Harbor Entrepreneur Center expands, adding 20,000 sq. ft. of office space for local entrepreneurs
Mount Pleasant, S.C. (Sept. 25, 2025) – The Harbor Entrepreneur Center, a nonprofit innovation hub supporting more than 100 businesses across the Lowcountry, announced today a major expansion at its Mount Pleasant headquarters. Through a new long-term lease at 11 eWall Street, the Harbor has added 20,000 square feet of office space, creating new opportunities for local entrepreneurs and small businesses to thrive.
“This expansion represents more than just additional square footage; it’s about fueling innovation and giving entrepreneurs the space they need to grow,” said Grady Johnson, the center’s executive director. “We now have added more than two dozen private offices ideal for startups and small business owners, including quad-office suites with shared collaboration areas. Our facility is truly one-of-a-kind and the flexibility of choices from floating desks to private office suites brings so much value to our tenants.”
Thanks to the ongoing support of the South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA), the Town of Mount Pleasant, and Charleston County Economic Development, the Harbor can offer offices at below-market rates, ensuring affordability for emerging companies. All rentals include furniture, utilities and complimentary access to meeting rooms and event spaces.
Since relocating to Mount Pleasant in 2023, HEC has generated more than 150 new jobs and provided a home to over 100 companies, each reporting average annual revenues of nearly $3 million. More than 80% of HEC-based businesses have expanded since moving into the center.
“We truly value what the Harbor Entrepreneur Center brings to Mount Pleasant and the region,” said Matt Brady, economic development officer for the Town of Mount Pleasant. “They’ve built something special here, and we’re proud to partner with them as they continue to strengthen our entrepreneurial ecosystem.”
The facility at 11 eWall Street, formerly home to ATD, now serves as the nonprofit’s flagship location following the closure of its Citadel Mall satellite office earlier this year. The property sits on an 18-acre parcel in the heart of Mount Pleasant, convenient to the Ravenel Bridge and 526.
Tours of the facility are available by appointment. Interested businesses should contact Grady Johnson at grady@harborec.com. For more information, visit harborec.com and follow HEC on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
